Fantastic coin silver repousse box used for slaked lime. The box is heavily decorated on top with flowers, tendrils and vines. The body has nice molding. The piece contains no marks or inscription.
The box is in the shape of an elongated oval (elliptical). It measures about 2.75 x 1.75 inches and 2 inches tall. Excellent condition. There is a small accumulation of slaked lime residue inside the box.

This is a beautiful lidded tobacco or betel nut box made of bronze (or silver) that is decorated with repousse work and chiseled designs. The sides and lid have been covered with gold leaf and copper overlay. The very top decoration is an attached floral decoration that is at least 14k gold and held in place by wires under the lid. Wonderful late 19th century English brown transferware 5-3/4" plate in the Madras pattern by William Brownfield & Sons. The central area of the plate depicts a fancy pagoda on the banks of a river. 19th Century English Silver Sugar and Creamer set in a silk and velvet lined leather presentation box from “Mappin Brothers Silversmiths / 35 St.Paul’s Churchyard & Regent Street”. Sugar and creamer have repousse decoration, with foliate scrolls in ovoid reserves and vermeil interior. Both pieces have a monogram ASA and are fully hallmarked, as shown.
