This is a beautiful lidded tobacco or betel nut box made of bronze (or silver) that is decorated with repousse work and chiseled designs. The sides and lid have been covered with gold leaf and copper overlay. The very top decoration is an attached floral decoration that is at least 14k gold and held in place by wires under the lid. Inside, the box has evidence of having a divider (missing) separating the box into two compartments...
