This is a delightful little 18-piece Luncheon Flatware Set. These are German silver-plate from the mid-1900s. I do not know the pattern or maker – although the logo hallmark is HHL. Each piece is marked “HHL 90” followed by a number 12 1/2 on the knives, 18 on the forks and 21 on the spoons. The German system of marking guarantees 90 grams of silver on the number of pieces indicated. The knives are also marked on the blades HHL Rostfrei.

Wonderful souvenir of San Francisco before the Golden Gate Bridge was built. The bowl has a raised image of San Francisco Bay looking out at the sunset through the Golden Gate. The Presidio is on the left and the Bodega lighthouse on the right. The handle of the spoon has a lovely floral design front and back – I do not know the name of the pattern.

This is a fantastic Scandinavian sterling silver tea strainer that is from around 1900 (time period 1890-1920, I think). This is a relatively heavy piece (1.8 Troy ounces/56 grams) and it is profusely decorated. The applied, cast handle has a superb two-sided image of a Dutch lady holding a basket. The wide rim has foliate scrolls all over. The bowl is undecorated.

This is a fantastic silver tea strainer from the Netherlands in the early 1900s (time period 1903-1928, I think). This is a relatively heavy piece (1.87 Troy ounces/58 grams) and it is profusely decorated. The reinforced cast handle has birds, scrolls, horses, a crown and a cartouche that is not monogrammed. This is a beautifully hand wrought citrus or grapefruit spoon. The handle has a carefully crafted stalk of leaves and flowers, culminating in a pair of gilt chrysanthemums or poppies. There is also a bird halfway up the handle. The bowl of the spoon appears to have been applied to the handle and is itself decorated with a poppy floral motif with a little butterfly above the flower.
