A truly whimsical, yet functional brooch with a retractable chain in the back to hold any number of items for the well-outfitted lady. These were marketed in the 1940s & 1950s as “The Paly Pin – A California Product.” This one holds a small lipstick, but would work equally well to hold a dance pencil, small pen, perfume bottle, or glasses (if they are not too heavy). The retracting mechanism is made by Ketcham & McDougall of Orange, N.J. The little lamb brooch is quite cute. Excellent...
Beautiful flower with petals and leaves made of faux tortoise (celluloid?) or nut casing. The flower is suspended on a spring on the end of the hairpin so that it trembles. The flower is about 2 inches by 2 3/4 inches and 3/4 inch deep – very 3-dimensional. The spring attaches to a 3 3/8 inch long two-prong hairpin. Condition is excellent for such an old, delicate piece. One petal has a spot of surface damage and one leaf is partially loose. Not much, considering …

This is a delightful little 18-piece Luncheon Flatware Set. These are German silver-plate from the mid-1900s. I do not know the pattern or maker – although the logo hallmark is HHL. Each piece is marked “HHL 90” followed by a number 12 1/2 on the knives, 18 on the forks and 21 on the spoons. The German system of marking guarantees 90 grams of silver on the number of pieces indicated. The knives are also marked on the blades HHL Rostfrei.
The knives are 7 1/8” long, the forks 5 7...
