This is a beautiful huge Victorian sterling silver chocolate muddler or long serving spoon. The squarish bowl has a long thin handle. Perfect for stirring up a pot of chocolate. This gorgeous graceful piece was made by Towle starting in 1912. The Mary Chilton pattern is a highly collected design and the chocolate muddler is rare. It does have an M monogram (and priced accordingly).
This is marked: 925/1000 plus Pat.1912/the Towle hallmark/Sterling. The spoon measures about 8 3/4 inches long. The bowl is 2 3/4 x 2 inches. It weighs about 1.4 Troy ounces (43 grams). Excellent condition.
