Gorgeous quadruple plate teaset with wonderful grape motif. Includes: Teapot, sugar bowl with cover, cream pitcher, large handled tray. Barbour Silver Co. was started in 1881 and was one of the original companies that formed the International Silver Co. in 1898. This set was probably made in the 1890s.
The serving pieces are marked with the Barbour Silver Quadruple plate mark; the tray has the regular silver plate hallmark (see photos). The teapot measures about 7 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches tip to tip; the sugar bowl about 6 inches tall; the creamer about 4 7/8 inches tall; the footed tray is about 17 inches in diameter and 21 inches including the handles. The serving pieces do not have a monogram, but the tray has a fancy monogrammed GVH in the middle. Excellent condition.
