| Mid-1800s yellow gold drop earrings. These appear to bear the hallmark of the city of Altenburg, Thuringia, Germany, pre-1886. The purity designation is 800, which indicates near 20K gold (19.2K actually). My tester indicates greater than 18K gold. Each has a nice dark blue sapphire in the middle of a gold "flower" and a pearl at the top. The sapphires are about 6mm diameter; the pearls about 4mm. Total weight is about 3.2 gm (0.10 TOz). Drop length is about 1 3/8 inch. Excellent condition. | ||||||||
