| This is a fantastic old English textured tan leather portfolio with a handle like a small briefcase. It holds stationery, notes and a writing pad – basically a small portable secretary. It is monogrammed “E. M. Moran” and included are several sheets of fine note paper inscribed: Nathan Moran / 41 Sutter Street / San Francisco 4. Nathan Moran was a well-known lawyer in San Francisco in the 1930s. The address indicates this is from prior to 1960. The inside leather is marked in gilded letters: Made in England. The portfolio has several expandable pockets, a place for two writing instruments, a few card slots and a small writing surface with an old blotter. The clasp, which works, is brass and marked: English Made. Measures about 9 x 7 x 1/12 inches when closed. Excellent condition, with one tear to the leather inside at one of the card slots. | ||||||||
