Hand Colored Western Pacific RR Photo Tramp Art Frame

This is a great 1930s hand colored photo of Passengers on the Western Pacific Railroad Scenic Express in California. It is framed is an Arts & Crafts frame, which is probably earlier than the photo. The photo is superb, with bright colors, and it is nicely mounted in an old cardboard oval mat. The mat is black with gilt decoration. The frame is a true folk art or trench art gem. Made of pine with a dark stain. The photo is in excellent condition; the mat does have two short tears in the upper middle border; and the frame is in excellent condition. The frame measures about 14 1/4” x 12 1/2” at its largest dimensions. The backing on the frame is wood and the frame is made in two parts, the inner one nailed to the outer frame with square nails.
