| This is a pair of scatter pins made from 19th Century United States silver coins. These are Victorian LOVE TOKENS. The coins are Liberty capped bust half-dimes from 1835 and 1836. One side of the coin has been ground flat and engraved with the initials PBJ (or maybe PBI – the script is quite fancy and the third letter is ambiguous). The pins are gold-filled and date from the late 19th century, with a C-clasp and tubular hinge. Excellent condition. | ||||||
