This is a set of lead toy figures made by Britains of England. These date from the 1930s-1950s. There are a total of 29 pieces, including a teepee that is marked: Elastolin, Germany. The figures are generally marked: Copyright/Britains Ltd./Proprietors/Made in England.
Included are 12 cowboys: 6 are shooters, one has a rope and 5 are on horses. 4 of the cowboys on horses have movable arms. There are 16 Indians: 7 with rifles or pistols, 4 with tomahawk or knife, one is crawling, 4 are on horses. 8 of the Indians have movable arms. Condition: Paint loss on most. One Indian is missing an arm, 3 horses have ankle injuries and one horse is missing its tail. 4 figures have lost the tip of the rifle, gun or knife. The teepee has some exposed metal at the top. The figures typically measure about 2 1/4 inches standing and 3 inches when on a horse. The teepee is about 6 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches across. NICE OLD SET. |
