This is a delightful little 18-piece Luncheon Flatware Set. These are German silver-plate from the mid-1900s. I do not know the pattern or maker – although the logo hallmark is HHL. Each piece is marked “HHL 90” followed by a number 12 1/2 on the knives, 18 on the forks and 21 on the spoons. The German system of marking guarantees 90 grams of silver on the number of pieces indicated. The knives are also marked on the blades HHL Rostfrei.
The knives are 7 1/8” long, the forks 5 7/8” long, and the spoons 5 5/8” long. This is a luncheon or dessert set. Excellent condition, having minor scratches from use.
Original boxes are included. These foil-covered boxes originally held 12 pieces in each – the set has dwindled down to six each over time. The boxes have seals on them that read: Haupt Qualitat / HHL / bekannt durch.”
