This large Safavid period inlaid copper basin measures an impressive 17" across and 9" tall (43 by 23 cm) and features a round shape with slightly inverted rim, extensive incised decorations including calligraphic band under the rim, and decorative arabesques alternatively filled with vegetal motifs, geometric patterns and animals. Overall condition is good, consistent with age...

We are proud to present two of the largest and most impressive examples of Japanese animal carving we have seen in our career. Depicting fierce eagles with raised wings, perched upon rock with squirrels at their feet, each measures approximately 47" tall, 32" across and 30" deep (119 by 81 by 76 cm). Neither is signed and their condition is good. There are scratches, stress cracks, wear and small losses, including to the tail, and talon of one figure. Price upon request.

This lovely antique vase in the Japanese Imari style is an exceptional example of Chinese export porcelain. It features ormolu bronze mounts including female lions clawing at grapevines, pedestal in the Rococo style and a simple mount decorating the rim. All gilded surfaces are original. Measures 20 in (50.8 cm) tall.

This Japanese ivory figurine depicting father and son musicians is unsigned and measures 4.5 by 3.2 by 1.8 in (11.4 by 8.1 by 4.6 cm).

This ivory figurine depicting a kneeling wiseman is in excellent condition with no losses or restorations. Measures 4 by 2.5 by 2 in (10.1 by 6.4 by 5.1 cm).

This pair of Meiji period Japanese vases feature front panels decorated with exotic birds and flora on a turquoise ground. Condition of each is very good. Each measures 17.7 x 10 x 7 in (45 x 25.4 x 17.8 cm).

This lovely nineteenth century Satsuma vase features foo dogs with rings at the neck, and elaborate applied figural decorations with enamel, and giltwood base. There are some minor losses to the enamel decorations, consistent with age. There is a crack to the applied cat figure, and a crack to one of the applied male figures, which may both date from the time of firing. This item is fresh from estate sale and we have not removed the base to inspect for marks...

This set of four nesting tables with red japanned finish feature minutely detailed gilded figural decoration on each table top. The finish is original throughout the set and its condition reflects its age. The largest table measures 28.5" H X 19.5" W X 12.25" D (72.4cm H X 49.5cm W X 31.1cm D). Included here is a pair of Chinese export porcelain roosters set upon tree stump bases. Each measures approximately 15.5" high, 9.25" wide and 5" deep. Each weighs an estimated 6-8 lbs. Condition of each is excellent, with no visible cracks, chips or repairs. These items reside with our client on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.

Included here is a pair of old Chinese porcelain foo dogs (lions) in turquoise blue and aubergine flambe glaze. Each measures 16.25" tall, 7.5" wide and 5.5" deep. There are no hallmarks. Condition is very good. The only visible damage is a small chip from the claw of one lion.
