This wonderful nineteenth century bronze by Jean Gautherin (1840-1890) depicts Fortuna, the Roman Goddess of luck, fate and fortune. Signed with foundry mark depicting a standing hound. The work is mounted upon a white marble plinth and the overall measures are 40" by 16" by 14". Condition is good. It has an old, undisturbed patina, and scratches and small dents/dings that are all consistent with age.

This fine green patinated bronze sculpture by Salvatore Melani (French, 1902-1934) depicts a male hunter spearing a charging lion. Measures 37.5" wide, 8.75" deep and 18.5" high. Signed in the cast and set upon a black, grey and green variegated marble plinth. Weighs an estimated 40-60 lbs. Very good condition. There are some modest scrapes and wear to the patina, and the spear has some bends as well.

Purchased at auction at Rago, and unfortunately we have no additional details on provenance. It is unsigned and the alloy is unknown. This delightful box by Smokey Tunis (c1913-1999), the noted sculptor and so-called Beatnik furniture maker, dates from the 1950s or 1960s. It is unsigned and in very good condition with its original finish and nice patina. Measures 12.75 in (17.8 cm) wide, 7.25 in (18.4 cm) deep, and 7 in (17.8 cm) high. This delightful marble sculpture, after a model by Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814), depicts two cherubs wearing crowns of grapes and leaves, at play beside a goat. Inscribed "Clodion 1886". Measures 40" tall, 32" wide and 21" deep (101.6 by 81.3 by 53.3 cm). It was purchased from lot 372 in sale 1716 at Christie's in New York on 10/24/06. Condition is excellent. There are chip losses, consistent with age, around the perimeter of the base, but no major damage nor signs of restoration...

This nineteenth century bronze figurine depicts the Greek mythological hero, Narcissus, after the original by the Italian sculptor, Vincenso Gemito (1852-1929) which was cast in the 1880s. It was cast by Barbedienne and measures 25" tall and 9.5" wide and deep. A Narcissus was a hero from the territory of Thespiae in Boeotia who was renowned for his beauty. This fabulous bronze sculpture by Louis Marie Moris (1818-1883) depicts a young, deer-hunting nobleman from the era of Francis I (1494-1547), France's first renaissance king. It measures 20" wide, 23" high and 9" deep. Signed in the cast "Moris", and there is no foundry mark. Patina is a rust-brown. In the Benezit it reports that Moris (or Morise) was the pupil of Lequien and Pradier, and exhibited at the Paris Salong from 1857 to 1869...
