This red japanned tallcase clock in the chinoiserie fashion dates from the mid to late eighteenth century, and has a movement attributed to the London clock maker, William Jackson. Movement resides behind glass and may be accessed from sides and rear, and the mechanism was not secured snugly against the front face of the cabinet at time of photography.
