This extraordinary micromosaic plaque comes from the Vatican mosaic studio and is believed to date from the mid twentieth century. It depicts a scene from the The Betrothed (Promessi Sposi), the Italian historical novel by Alessandro Manzoni which was first published in 1827. Label on verso reads " Rev. Fabricca de S.
