This pastel depicting Irma Brunner, Edouard Manet, was painted in the early to mid twentieth century and is signed Jacquet. This female portrait dates from the third or fourth quarter of the nineteenth century, and is likely of American origin. We have not found a signature. It resides in an old frame, but which is not likely original to the painting. Frame measures 37 by 31.5 in and the stretcher measures approximately 25 by 30 in. Condition is very good. There are no visible losses and some degree of craquelure, and the surface appears to have been varnished sometime in the recent past...
