This extraodinary bronze sculpture, Gloria Victis, by Marius Jean Antonin Mercie (1845-1916), was cast by Barbedienne in the nineteenth century. Measuring 56" (142 cm), it is believed to be the second largest cast known to have been made by Barbedienne. First conceived while Mercie was studying in Rome at the French Academy, it originally modelled where Fame was supporting a victorius warrior in anticipation of a positive outcome to the Franco-Prussian war started in 1870...

This is an exceptional, original large bronze by Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clesinger (1814-1883), cast by the Parisien foundry, Marnyhac, in 1868. This unusually tall Sonambient sculpture measures 97" (8'2") tall, and features three rods and an L-shaped base. Designed by Harry Bertoia in the 1970s, and assembled posthumously by Val Bertoia at the Bertoia Studio in Bally, PA. This delightful marble sculpture, after a model by Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814), depicts two cherubs wearing crowns of grapes and leaves, at play beside a goat. Inscribed "Clodion 1886". Measures 40" tall, 32" wide and 21" deep (101.6 by 81.3 by 53.3 cm). It was purchased from lot 372 in sale 1716 at Christie's in New York on 10/24/06. Condition is excellent. There are chip losses, consistent with age, around the perimeter of the base, but no major damage nor signs of restoration...

This fabulous bronze sculpture by Louis Marie Moris (1818-1883) depicts a young, deer-hunting nobleman from the era of Francis I (1494-1547), France's first renaissance king. It measures 20" wide, 23" high and 9" deep. Signed in the cast "Moris", and there is no foundry mark. Patina is a rust-brown. In the Benezit it reports that Moris (or Morise) was the pupil of Lequien and Pradier, and exhibited at the Paris Salong from 1857 to 1869...

This antique bronze figurine depicting Hercules has a wonderful patina of dark brown patina with orange/red highlights. It measures 27 by 16 by 10 inches (68.6 by 40.6 by 25.4 cm) and weighs an estimated 50-65 lbs. Patina and hardware suggest the piece dates from the nineteenth century. There are no hallmarks and its origin is unknown. Possibly of Italian or French origin. This item resides with our client in northern New Jersey and may be seen in person by appointment.
