This extraodinary bronze sculpture, Gloria Victis, by Marius Jean Antonin Mercie (1845-1916), was cast by Barbedienne in the nineteenth century. Measuring 56" (142 cm), it is believed to be the second largest cast known to have been made by Barbedienne. First conceived while Mercie was studying in Rome at the French Academy, it originally modelled where Fame was supporting a victorius warrior in anticipation of a positive outcome to the Franco-Prussian war started in 1870...

Included here are two extraordinary antique (19th century) Italian carved busts depicting Roman emperors. Measures: 35 x 25 x 14 in (88.9 x 63.5 x 35.6 cm); 35 x 29 x 15 in (88.9 x 73.7 x 38.1 cm). Each exhibits the finest craftsmanship and details in high relief and their overall condition is excellent. We have found no signatures.

This lovely, large marble sculpture dates from the late 19th to early 20th century, and depicts an Arab or Turkish father and daughter. Signed Carados. Measures 47" by 21.5" by 12.5"

This is an exceptional, original large bronze by Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clesinger (1814-1883), cast by the Parisien foundry, Marnyhac, in 1868. It depicts combat de taureaux romains (a pair of sparring bulls) and measures an impressive 38.5" by 20" by 10" (97.8 by 50.8 by 25.4 cm). This bronze comes from the collection of Jack Palance (1919-2006) and bears the paper ownership label he applied to each of the items in his substantial collection of fine art...

This unusually tall Sonambient sculpture measures 97" (8'2") tall, and features three rods and an L-shaped base. Designed by Harry Bertoia in the 1970s, and assembled posthumously by Val Bertoia at the Bertoia Studio in Bally, PA. The sculpture was purchased by our client directly from the Bertoia Studio, circa 2000.

This delightful marble sculpture, after a model by Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814), depicts two cherubs wearing crowns of grapes and leaves, at play beside a goat. Inscribed "Clodion 1886". Measures 40" tall, 32" wide and 21" deep (101.6 by 81.3 by 53.3 cm). It was purchased from lot 372 in sale 1716 at Christie's in New York on 10/24/06. Condition is excellent. There are chip losses, consistent with age, around the perimeter of the base, but no major damage nor signs of restoration...

This original cast bronze by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887) depicts a lovely female in classical robes with staff and likely represents an allegory of work or time. It measures an impressive 33 by 12 by 14 inches (83.8 by 30.5 by 35.6 cm). Cast signature reads "CARRIER BELLEUSE" and there is no foundry mark...

This patinated bronze sculpture from the early twentieth century depicts an Arab hunter with rifle on horseback, inspired by the sculpture created by Emile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin (1841-1907) and Alfred Barye (1839-1882). It measures 40" tall and weighs an estimated 20-25 lbs. There are no signatures nor foundry marks. This item resides with our client on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.

This fabulous bronze sculpture by Louis Marie Moris (1818-1883) depicts a young, deer-hunting nobleman from the era of Francis I (1494-1547), France's first renaissance king. It measures 20" wide, 23" high and 9" deep. Signed in the cast "Moris", and there is no foundry mark. Patina is a rust-brown. In the Benezit it reports that Moris (or Morise) was the pupil of Lequien and Pradier, and exhibited at the Paris Salong from 1857 to 1869...

This fabulous sculpture attributed to Antonio Frilli (Italian, 19th Century) depicts a lovely, seated nude female sculpted from white marble, flanked by bronze peacocks on each side by Georges Gori (Italian, 19-20th Century). The entire work is mounted on a stained wooden plinth. The bronze is signed "G Gori" and the rear of the base is signed " A. FRILLI VIA FOSSI 4 FIRENZE ITALIA "...

This antique bronze figurine depicting Hercules has a wonderful patina of dark brown patina with orange/red highlights. It measures 27 by 16 by 10 inches (68.6 by 40.6 by 25.4 cm) and weighs an estimated 50-65 lbs. Patina and hardware suggest the piece dates from the nineteenth century. There are no hallmarks and its origin is unknown. Possibly of Italian or French origin. This item resides with our client in northern New Jersey and may be seen in person by appointment.

This original bronze sculpture by Demetre Chiparus is known as Hindu Dancer (Danseuse Indoue) and dates from circa 1925. This parcel-gilt and cold-painted bronze figurine rests upon its original onyx stone pedestal which is signed by the artist along with the foundry name, Etling Paris.
