This unusual metal sculpture is believed to date from the mid-twentieth century. Its form and patina are reminiscent of the sculpture of Lynn Chadwick and Paul Evans. Purchased at auction at Rago, and unfortunately we have no additional details on provenance. It is unsigned and the alloy is unknown. This lovely pair of porcelain wine coolers ( or possibly jardinieres or cachepots ) by Sevres feature gilded and hand-painted decoration including exotic Asian birds and plants. Each is in excellent condition with no restorations and no damages beyond flea bites along the undersides. There is very light wear to the gilding. Measures: 7 x 10.2 x 8.25 inches; 17.8 x 26 x 21 cm.

This silvered bronze table lamps dates from the early twentieth century, and features extensive incised and parcel gilt decoration, including animal paw feet, guilloche, acanthus leaves and other neoclassical motifs. It measures 34" tall to the top of the finial and 11" wide and 11" deep. We have found no hall marks, but the style and level of craftsmanship suggest it may have been made by E.F. Caldwell or a leading competitor. It has relatively modern wiring and is ready for immediate use...

This pair of vintage lounge chairs are unattributed, but similar to designs by the Finnish designer, Yrjo Kukkapuro dating from circa 1975, and earlier designs by Joe Colombo. Each has their original read polyester mesh upholstery and padding, and are very comfortable. Each shows only very light wear, including a small tear to one seat which has been repaired, and scratches to the white enamelled metal legs. They sit low to the ground with a 15" seat height at the front edge...

This lovely antique kidney-shaped desk in the French Louis XVI or English George III style features an ebonized top with swirling and string inlay, a single center drawer with hand-cut dovetails, reticulated brass gallery, and square tapered legs with flat brass sabots. It measures 36.75" wide, 29.5" high (to the top of the gallery), 19.5" deep, and the height of the desk surface is 28.5"...

This antique cast bronze bell dates from 1814 and likely comes from a church. It reads "SOU EL NINO JESUS ANO DE 1814" which translates to "I AM THE BOY JESUS YEAR OF 1814". The entire piece measures 28" high, 23" wide and 10" deep. The bell alone measures 10" across and 8.25" tall at the top of the shoulder. There is no clapper. There are handwritten numeric markings which are likely from a prior owner, institution or auction house...

This truly magnificent antique bronze neoclassical chandelier features elaborate decoration, including large lions masks, twisted ropes, repeating egg-and-dart patterns, and leafy "S" scrolls. Measures 26" across and approximately 45" tall. Electrified many years ago and in good working condition. Originally powered by gas, the original valve knobs are still present. Holes around the edges suggest cut crystals may have originall hung from the six bobeches...

This unique pewter ten-arm chandelier features tear drop shaped crystals that are almot five inches long and one inch deep. Recently cleaned and electrified and in fine working order. Measures 27" wide and 25" high. One thin metal arm at the top is missing, but could certainly be replaced by a professional metalsmith. This item resides in Red Bank NJ and may be seen by appointment.

This oil on canvas by the Scottish painter, Alfred F. de Breanski Jr. (1877-1955), is entitled The Citadel of Cairo. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Canvas measures 18 by 24 inches. Condition is very good. The canvas was relined with wax and linen, and varnished around 1970. There are signs of inpainting in a few areas, including several points in the sky. This pair of antique porcelain cachepots feature beautiful hand-painted song birds and flowers, and ormolu bronze pedestals with leafy folliage. Each were originally drilled and thus could be modified to work as table lamps. Each measures 9.5 in tall by 8.25 in across (24.1 by 8.25 cm).

This pair of sconces feature polished and lacquered brass frames and green tinted glass, similar to the 1930s and 1940s designs of Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte of Italy. They are unmarked and the manufacturer and designer are unknown. Dimensions: 28" H X 14.5" W X 6.5" D (71.1 X 36.8 X 16.5 cm).
