This Wavelength sofa, designed in 2000 by Karim Rashid, features cast aluminum legs and frame, silver vinyl on the edges, and black leather-like vinyl upholstery on the seat and seat back. Condition is very good. There are some scuffs to the silver upholstery on the seat, and a few noticeable but light scratches to the black seating surface. Seat height is 16.25 in (41.3 cm). This pair of antique Meiji period bronze vases feature cold-painted flying cranes and Japanese flora designs in high relief. Condition is very good, with no deep scratches or dents. Each measures 11.7 in tall and 6.2 in across (29.7 cm and 15.9 cm).
This antique metal strong box or letter/stationary box is of Middle Eastern origin, possibly Persian or Syrian, and features silver and gold damascened decorations. Measures 9.5" x 7.5" x 4.75". Hinge is in good condition, the lid fits snugly, and there is no key.
This pair of lovely antique gilt bronze sconces in the French Louis XV style feature five electrified candles, and were exceptionally cast and finished. They have remnants of old cloth-sheathed wiring and old five inch tall candle covers. We will be happy to rewire and add new candle covers for an additional fee. Measures: approximately 14" wide.
This delightful round coffee table is a prototype designed in 1993 by Masanori Umeda (Japanese, 1941- ). It features a laminate top in the shape of a soccer ball, with four metal legs with brushed finish and rubber feet in the form of soccer ( football ) boots. Masanori was born and educated in Japan, and moved to Milan in 1967 to work in the design studio of Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. This pair of Paris porcelain vases date from the early/mid 19th century, and feature gilt grounds decorated with acanthus leaf pattern at the shoulder, looping handles with Grecian masks of horned males, and green painted ground from base to shoulder including cartouches depicting loving mothers and children, and lyre motifs. This original Ribbon Chair (model F582), designed in 1965 by Pierre Paulin, dates from the 1960s and was recently restored. This chair was crafted from wood, bent tubular steel, foam padding and fabric. Restoration included removal of old upholstery, replacement of foam padding, stripping and refinishing of base. This pair of gilt metal and cut glass sconces, attributed to Maison Jansen, feature their distinctive cup-shaped drip pans decorated with inserted faceted crystals. This wonderful oil painting by Joseph Paulman (British, 19th-20th Century) depicts a Dutch landscape at sunset with windmill and walking path along a marsh and village in the background. Canvas measures 24 x 36 inches and frame measures 29 x 40.5 x 1.5 inches. Frame is old but not from the period of the painting, and bears a brass nameplate with the title of the work, "After the Rain". Condition is very good. This antique cast bronze figurine of the hunter Diana by Jean-Alexandre-Joseph Falguiere (1831-1900) was cast by Thiebaut Freres of Paris and has been drilled for use as lamp. Signed " A Falguière " and with the foundry mark " THIEBAUT FRERES FONDEURS PARIS ". Measures 32.5" high, 9" wide and 8" deep and weighs an estimated 15-20 lbs. Bronze figurine alone measures approximately 18" high. Lamp is in fine working order and all hardware and wiring is in good condition...
