| This delightful sculpture in the form of an eggplant or other vegetable was designed for Orrefors by Anne Nilsson (1953- ) in 1989, and is believed to be a one-of-a-kind. Its condition is very good. There are only a few nicks and a shallow scratch roughly three inches long. Weighs 9.9 lbs (4.5 kg). Anne Nilsson studied art at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and glass and ceramics at the National College of Arts and Crafts in Stockholm where Bertil Vallien was a teacher. She interned with Kosta and soon thereafter studied glass and ceramics in California. She worked for Orrefors from 1982 to 1999, and in 2001 she returned to Kosta Boda where she remains today. Successful as both a fine artist and commercial artist, her designs are in the permanent collections of many museums around the world.
