|This pair of wonderful Art Deco period figurines were designed by Hungarian-born artist, Geza Arpad de Vegh (1905-1989), for the Phoenix Pottery company in the 1930s. Depicted are a male shepherd with pipe, and female with sicle and sheaf of grain. Each carries the Phoenix hallmark on the underside, and each are in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or losses. These earthenware figurines are partially glazed in glossy white. The unglazed surfaces show a modest degree of surface dirt, consistent with age. Dimensions: 9.3" H X 13.5" W X 5" D (23.5 X 34.3 X 12.7 cm).|
