| This is an exceptional figural landscape oil on canvas by the Hungarian painter, Gyula Zorkoczy (1873-1932). Stretcher measures 27 1/2 by 19 7/8 and frame measures 31 by 23 by 2 1/4 inches. Depicted is a woman in a shallow rocky stream. Zorkoczy was born in Nagyroce and studied under Bertalan Szekely at the School of Model Drawing where he obtained a diploma in art instruction. He exhibited at the National Salon beginning in 1907. He is well known for his realistic and brightly colored figural landscapes. Listed in the Benezit. Thanks for visiting.
