| Included here is a matching pair of model 275 " S " chairs, circa 1970, attributed to Verner Panton (1926-1998). Black knit fabric is in good condition. There are no rips or tears. Each measures 36" high, 18.5" wide and 20" deep. Designed in 1956 by Panton, this chair was first put into production in 1966 by A. Sommer for Thonet. Made from bent laminated wood of various finishes, Thonet also covered this (and other Panton models) in various fabrics. A leading Manhattan mid-century/modern dealer currently has a pair of Panton model A76101 chairs for sale for $5,400 which are finished in the same black knit fabric. These chairs reside on the upper west side of Manhattan ( New York city ) and may be seen by appointment. | ||||||||
