| This Georgian gilt metal ceiling lantern features wonderful neogothic ornamentation. Measures 34" by 16" by 16" with 17" of chain. Weighs an estimated 25-35 lbs. It features six glazed panels and smoke bell, and four candle arms of later date with opaque white plastic candle covers (One was missing during photography but has since been found). Wired and ready for installation. This lamp was appraised for $16,500 in 1988 by Anton Ruder Jr. Appraisals of New York NY, a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers. Copy of appraisal available upon request. This lantern comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford New York known as Cantitoe Farms. (The estate is down the street from Martha Stewart's home by the same name.) The lamp was purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s. | |||||||||
