| Included here is a blue and white earthenware glazed ceramic charger by Boch Freres Keramis and an ebonized wooden stand. The plate measures 19.9" (50.5 cm) across and 2.5" tall (6.3 cm), and dates from the late nineteenth century. Plate on stand measures 20.5" high and large enough to serve as a small occasional table. The underside shows the Boch Freres mark which looks like a backward "K" and "B" along with the number 575 or 515 beneath. There is also a number 75 in blue and impressed number 16. The stand appears to be no more than 20 to 40 years old. Condition is very good. There are no visible cracks or repairs. There are a couple shallow depressions along the underside of the rim which appear to be original and likely occurred during firing, along with a similar spot on the edge of the foot. There is also a tiny unglazed spot in the decorated center below the figure in the foreground. The Boch Freres Keramis company stated operation in Belgium in 1841 and operated through the 1930s. They are known for their Delft style glazed earthenware and especially their Art & Crafts and Art Deco period art pottery. | |||||||||||||||
