This lovely, tall, demilune satinwood chest in the British Adams style features six drawers, a pierced brass gallery, bronze mounts depicting bellflowers and drapery, and figural painted decoration. It measures approximately 50" tall, 32" wide and 24" deep. Drawer fronts are decorated with painted images of putti in various settings, and each side is painted with the full length portraits of females in neoclassical settings with rinceau and other organic and classical motifs. It has four large drawers and one smaller drawer at the top, plus cabinets on left and right. Working condition of the locks is unknown and there is no key. Its level of craftsmanship is very high with hand-cut drawer dovetails and exceptional painting. Overall condition is good. There are noticeable scratches here and there, and a crack running through the right side door panel.
