| This extraordinary over-sized lidded goblet dedicated to Abraham Lincoln by Lobmeyr is believed to be a one-of-a-kind. It measures an impressive 13.75" tall. and is in near-mint condition. A similar goblet is featured on the masterpieces page at the Lobmeyr website as an example of their artists' finest engraving. According to Leonid Rath of Lobmeyr, that goblet is also a one-of-a-kind copy of the original which was damaged. The goblet features the profile of Lincoln along with his year of birth and death, and starting on the goblet and continuing on the lid is the opening line from his famous Gettysburg speech which reads "Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent...a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal". There are no visible scratches or chips, and only the very lightest flea bite size scratches on the underside. The underside carries the Lobmeyr engraved trademark and there is no artist's mark. | |||||||||||||
