| This pair of candelabra in the French Louis XV style feature porcelain vases with an unusual cascading glaze in shades of gold and rust orange, with applied gilt enamel decoration depicting foliage and insects. The gilt bronze mounts have their original patina. Condition is excellent. There are no visible cracks or losses, and a couple bobeches are missing. Mounting hardware is original and all bronze mounts are structurally sound. We have found no hallmarks. The porcelain glaze is so unusual and there are no comparable examples in the major auction databases. We normally see Louis XV and English bronze candelabra, including those in the Chinoiserie style, paired with porcelain with glazes of cobalt blue, royal blue, turquoise, or even white. | ||||||||||||||
