This large atomic age, spherical hanging light fixture in the shape of a space satellite, is crafted from red plastic with metal (possibly aluminum) frame, and features 18 light sockets. It has its original white ceramic diffusers and dates from the 1960s or possibly the 1950s. It is wired and ready for installation. It has an on/off switch on the wiring and the sockets blink when switched on. It's possible an electrician can modify the fixture to enable the bulbs to remain on (verses blinking). We have outfitted the fixture with long tube-shaped bulbs, but its standard size sockets will accomodate a variety of bulb shapes. Designer and manufacturer are unknown. It is in very good condition. There are no dents and only surface abrasions and light scratches. There are two cracks visible on the underside. Yellow and white areas in our photos are reflections from flourescent ceiling lights. Dimensions: 34" H X 24" Dia
(86.4 cm H X 61 cm Dia).
