OMEGA Jumbo Sub. Facetted Straight Lugs 38mm .935 Silver original case. By Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland; 38mm diameter without the crown by 10mm thick, and 49mm in total length. Circa: 1964. Fine and rare.
Top- Range Case maker Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland produced this case design, one of several and very special .935 silver case designs only for the Philippine and Singapore markets. This marketing attempt failed and many cases were never sold or distributed. Very few were produced because of this marketing failure. This watch was discovered in a lot of 8 (uncirculated). Note: See page 261 OMEGA/ A JOURNEY THROUGH time BY Marco Richon and Nicolas G. Hayek 2007 831 pages. This example is in superb condition with a professionally restored dial to it’s original specifications and detail. The Straight line hour angle lug design on this model was also adopted by Patek Philippe. Truly rare and especially collectible. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME. DIAL: Black non-reflective mat finish with a matching silver sub. Seconds circle with the figures and hands. Applied silver fingers Arabic figures and Omega Greek symbol for “The First”. Very impressive and elegant. MOVEMENT: ¾ plate rose, pendent set, Seventeen (17) Jewels” , “OMEGA Swiss”, Caliber “269”, #21,583,994. Excellent original condition. CASE: Top- Range Case maker Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland produced this very special .935 Sterling silver case design. .935 Silver mark and the Omega Factory Logo mark inside back. This mark authenticates this original case and enhances value. Ref. 7860332. Unique Omega design of a straight line hour angle lugs. Mint original condition. Originally, Omega intended to nickel plate all of these .935 special design cases. However, they never sold and were lost in inventory until recently, undistrubed in pure .935 fine original cases and never nickel plated to prevent tarnish. Note: Other top range case makers as Cartier built .935 silver cases and yellow gold plated them (I.E. the Cartier "Tank" Plaque). NOTE: Please view our return policy for exchanges and returns.
