AGASSIZ 16 SIZE OPEN FACE GOLD PLATED SALESMANS DISPLAY Circa: 1910. Fine and rare Swiss high grade. Highly regarded. This manufacturer always produced a better watch and this is not an exception. Auguste Agassiz of Stain Imier & Geneva started manufacturing quality watches in 1832. They later became interested in making a flat style watch which proved to be very popular. The company was inherited by Ernest Francillion who built a factory called Longines.

This high grade movement presents itself in an salesmans display case used for very easy viewing. Both sides are hard rock original beveled crystals and the case is a very unusual gold plate. Clean, running and a fine example of a Swiss high grade. Especially collectible. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.

DIAL: White porcelain single sunken dial with the original black keyhole hands and signed in very fine script: “Agassiz”. This is a mint original dial.

MOVEMENT: 16 size, open face, lever set, 17 Jewels, 5/8 plate nickel, signed; “AGASSIZ”, #43,946. Excellent condition, free of any distraction.

CASE: Snap back and bezel yellow gold plate salesmans display case. Top bezel is to be removed to pull out the lever to set the time. Excellent condition with glass on both sides.
