Japanese Dolls With Doll Trunk

This trunk has probably been the life time home for these well played with and loved 5 dolls. They need restoration: the smaller two boy dolls are each missing 1 arm, as well as one is missing a foot and the other boy doll is missing two feet. The larger ichimatsu boy doll is intact, but is missing his hair and is shabby from wear. One girl doll needs to be restrung, one arm is completely loose from her body and her mouth has some loss of lip coloring. The other girl doll is complete, but well worn and tired from being played with. Both girl dolls have glass eyes. The gofun finish on all the doll faces and bodies are smudged. The bodies appear to be composition. The wood trunk is papered on the outside to look like crocodile leather and the interior is papered. There is loss of paper, mostly on the trunk's bottom side, then the sides, and some minor losses to the top and interior. There is some rotted wood on the base of the trunk. The handles have some rust. Please visit our website Tokugawa Antiques for additional 8 photos.
