The blue glass globe is the focal point for this vintage Japanese ship's kerosene lantern. The metal frame is a non-ferrous material, probably bronze. The chain is iron. The four juncture points are reinforced with wire strapping. After years of use, there are a few flaws: it leans a little to one side and there is wear on inside lip of lid. The lid does not fit fully inside the lantern's opening, possibly from an ill fitted metal replacement hinge. Overall, a very beautiful lantern that is in good condition. The lantern is not marked, but comes from Hokkaido.

Height Including Handle (not including chain): 15" Diameter of Metal Frame: 11 1/2"
