Japanese Temple Bells on Rope

Free Economy shipping in Continental US

Here's a great set of bells still attached to their rope. There's a pair of suzu bells with their little tasseled pillows and a single heavy flat bronze bell (called a waniguchi, or crocodile mouth) on an iron chain. The bronze bell (or gong, for it has no clapper) has a pair of Phoenix embossed on the side. This piece is either from a Buddhist temple or a Shinto shrine. There are two large wooden beads: an oval above the bells and a hexagonal bead with kanji above the knot at the bottom of the rope.
A special piece with the rope and attachments still together. Showa era, pre-1970.
Dimensions:
Length: 65"
Suzu bells: 4" x 4"
Flat bell: 5" Diameter
Rope diameter: 1-3/4"
