Suzuribako with Inlaid Cover Includes Inkstones and Ink

Scholor's box, or suzuribako has two inlaid scenes on the cover. The upper scene is a phoenix arranged to look like a peach while the lower depicts water, reeds and lilies. The box's contents are included. There are a couple of inkstones and several ink sticks. The box sits on little feet and the underside is black lacquer with some wear on the feet. Dates from the Taisho or early Showa period, pre-1940.
