A bamboo section forms this scoop. It's a piece of old Japan; the handle is a root or sprout, and the bamboo segment dividers are the ends of this scoop. A delightful bit of mingei life, the piece dates from the 19th or early 20th century. There are some cracks where the bamboo has been too dry.
