Ten Oribe Hyotan or Gourd Dishes

A collection of ten oribe dishes are in the auspicious gourd shape. Each sits on three hooped feet and is decorated with classic Oribe patterns and colors. On several, the heavy green glaze is edged in pink or red. One is lighter in color and has a larger diaper pattern; it may be newer than the others and is the one with a chip. The others date from the Meiji or Taisho period and are without chips or cracks other than original firing irregularities which are typical of this vintage Oribe.
Dimensions:
Each is approximately 2" high, 6-1/2" long and 4-3/4" across.
