Gosho Ningyo Boy Playing with a Top, from Edo Period

A delightfully curious little boy leans intently over his top. He wears a kimono with miniature kasuri pattern and has a shibori silk obi. His hair is real. He appears to be made of wood, with gofun or oyster paste on his head, hands and legs. There's a chip on his right foot and his left one has a crack. His head is mottled, as depicted in the photographs. This is just for disclosure; the flaws do not detract from the appeal of this little doll.
