Red lacquer ground, engraved with five fan-shaped panels, each depicting flowers of the seasons such as plum, bamboo, orchids, and chrysanthemum. The design outlined in dark silver lacquer. The bottom in black lacquer. Black lacquer interiors. Height 2 7/8” (7.3 cm), 2 7/8” diameter (7.3 cm). Purchased in Japan around 1980. Perfect condition.
In fitted wooden box (tomobako) 4 ¼ x 3 ½ x 3 ½ inches (11 x 9 x 9 cm). Signed YÛHYO and with red seal imprint at one side. This piece is located in Europe (EC). |
