Small mame-yu. The sturdily built, but very light-weight, wooden base is covered with durable Japanese red lacquer (urushi) suitable for serving hot water (or also soy sauce, or other liquids). The body of this little pitcher is of functional shape and pleasant to handle. Around 1985. Height 2 3/8 in. (6.2 cm), diameter 3 ¼ in. (8.5 cm), in inscribed cardboard box: Shu-nuri mame-yu (red lacquered miniature pitcher), and with red seal imprint. Perfect condition, as new. This piece is located in Europe (EC). |
