Hanging scroll. Fukurokuju standing in a landscape with mountains. Signature on right: reading Tanyu, seal. Black ink and some color on paper. Japan, 19th century. Kano school. Painted area: 44 ½ x 17 3/16 inches. Overall length 74 ¾ inches. Several horizontal creases, several missing and thin areas in paper filled and partly retouched, especially in upper and lower parts. Mounting of later date in fragile state. In hanging order. Wooden scroll ends. |
