Cake mold with seven molds carved with the emblems of the seven gods of good luck, shichifukujin. Extra plate to form the back of the cakes, with double mark for alignment. Cherry wood. Japan, 1921-1926 (dated Taisho1..). Label ‘made in Japan’ that was required for import into the US in the 1930s. L 14 3/8 inches (36.5 cm). Short crack in back plate, few traces of usage (splintering on edges), otherwise very good condition. |
