This a superb Austrian Silver Enamel Case. Made by the famous maker Alexander Sturm, highly regarded Austrian silversmith, whose is associated with the famous Wiener Werkstatte in Vienna. This is a first standard silver, showing a 935 mark, which is the higher silver content than sterling. It has the makers mark , the four leaf clover, and the Austrian mark, which is on the side, that I did not photograph, it is the Hoopoe Bird with number 1 and W for Wein,Vienna, Austria. The enamel done in the champleve technique. is a soft creamy ivory colour, the background for a swirl Baroque pattern. It is enameled and engraved on all sides. It has an invisible hinge. It has no latch or clasp, but a perfect vacuum natural close. There is a gold gilt interior, with engraving on the inside, inscribed it “ Krakow 29/111 1926 CLAIRE ”. In good condition, it only has honest wear, very light scratches on the top and bottom, it measures 3 ¼ inches x 2 inches wide, and weighs 107 grams.
