This handmade repousse bowl, is made in Burma with Chinese Silver hallmarks. Called a Thabeik, this circular bowl, is influenced by the Monks alms bowl, or beggars bowl. But made for the British Colonist market in the late 19th century, early 20th Century. It is made of silver lower grade than sterling, about 90/100. It is embellished with arabesque designs, with 5 panels of mythical beasts. It is in good condition, no dents or repairs. It weighs 270 grams, and measures 7 inches across x 4 inches tall.
