From the spritual world of Congo. Nkisi (medicin) statue of a two headed dog. Great condition and patina. Dates pre WWII. Materials used: wood, metal, glass (eyes and container on the back for bilongo)also remainings of feathers and possibly blood and dirt between the metal pieces and some nails. Lenght appr. 20"5 or 52 cm.

Two decoy ducks for the American collector. I know practically nothing of American folkart but I was told that the plain mallard could be from the Pascagoula (decoy)company MS and from the 50's. The coulored one is yet unknown. Condition: possibly used but in very reasonable state. L. appr. 13"and 16".

Absolute one of the finest carvings I have in my collection is this carving of a rhino. It's in perfect condition and the anatomical details are just amazing. Carved out of one piece of hardwood it must have taken the carver several weeks to finish. Everything is as naturalistic as can be. The skin does not only look like skin it also feels like skin. This Rhino is made in either India or Shrilanka. It's 20th century...

This must be the most unusual sculpture of African art I've ever come across.It came from an old Belgian collection. I assume its' origin lies in former Belgian Congo. I'm not an expert on Tribal art or African geography but this figurine must be very rare for African standards. The patin and slight repairs and/or fillings at some places date this item to early 20th century to pre ww2. I don't know if the monkey represents a soccer or rugby player...
