A nicely shaped Tiwanaku "pacha", Ca. 500 - 1000 A.D.

On either side is the head of a man wearing a headdress with jaguar heads. Between them is a feather staff. It is believed that the pachas were used in water or fertility rites. 6" wide by 4" tall.

An exceptional Maya cylinder, Ca. 600 - 900 A.D.

This phenomenal Maya cylinder has three standing figures, each holding an instrument (fan or banner) that has a long billed bird perched on top that could represent the primary bird deity. Sits on three small legs. Gorgeous. 6-1/4" by 5-3/4".

A wonderful Maya cache vessel from Guatemala, Ca. 500- 800 A.D.

Two part lidded vessel that is 12" high and is decorated with a highly detailed figure mounted on the top. The lower part consist of a two handled bowl on a flared pedestal. The bowl is studded with spikes used to depict the Ceiba tree, representing the Maya Maya axis mundi, its stable world center. The cross design cut into the pedestal was viewed as an iconic representation of the Yaxche, which traditionally is the Ceiba tree...

An early Moche fineline bottle, Ca. 200 - 400 A.D.

This beautiful Moche bottle has 6 lizards, each separated by lines. The lizards were somewhat venerated, as they would eat the bugs and help protect crops, etc. There is some minor chipping at the foot of the piece, else perfect. This is an incredible early piece. 9-3/4" tall.

A sitting Ai Apaec figure, Ca. 550 - 700 A.D.

There are two sea lion heads coming up from the top of the headdress, giving this a sea theme. The sea lion bodies are morphed into snake bodies as they run down the side of the figure. Beautiful condition. There is a TL test included from the Ralf Kotalla Lab in Germany, done in 1993. The report is in English and German with the graphs included. Dates last firing as 1250 years ago. 8" tall. Ex. E. Roth collection.

A Vera Cruz standing figure, Ca. 600 - 900 A.D.

Absolutely stunning Vera Cruz figure attached to an offering bowl. He has a huge pectoral and a fantastic "serpent" mask, with snakes coming from his headdress and running down to his nosering. He wears large bracelets and earspools. VERY complex piece. 10-3/4" tall by 9" deep by 9" across. Still has some white stucco remains. Incredible.
