This Maya deer effigy depicts a deer with the tongue sticking out on one side, probably from running during a ritual hunt. A rattle in the head would have been used to alert the gods that an offering was being made. Wonderful addition to any collection. There is a pressure crack down one side. 8-1/2" long by 6" tall.

This Maya Copador cylinder has two rows of sitting "chiefs". Here is an interesting note on this piece. In front of one of the chiefs in each row is a speaking glyph, signifying his speaking to the others. This could represent a meeting before a battle, or a meeting of representatives of different city states. Very fine example, with vibrant colors and great condition. 6-1/2" tall and 5" wide.
