A Maya figure of a a high status individual, Ca. 600 - 900 A.D. A kneeling figure, wearing a sash, a complex headdress and a large pectoral necklace. The raised circles on the left arm could represent shells made onto the garment or could also represent ritual scarification. A beautiful sounding whistle is built into the left shoulder. Gorgeous figure. 8" tall. |
