A beautifully rendered Maya "Chiefs" Bowl, Ca. 600 - 900 A.D. This great example of the Maya Chiefs bowl has 6 figures around the outside of the bowl, shown in an "offering" ceremony. This bowl is one of the rarer type, with the figures facing left, where a majority of this type have the figures facing right. Has Turkey Vultures and the cardinal direction marker on the inside of the bowl. Measures 8" wide by 3" tall. |
